What’s the Buzz? New Media Booth at the 2026 Conference!

2026 Women Writing the West conference attendees will have a new experience available: collaborating with WWW in a series of promotional videos starring… you!

At this year’s event, there will be a table just for creating internal media production, hosted by Janelle Molony. She will be specifically collecting short sound and video bytes from guests to be used in future marketing content for the organization and the conference. This opportunity helps WWW reach new audiences, demonstrates viability, shows the diversity of its member base, and relays the value of conference attendance.

Participating is easy, just visit the table and answer from a selection of questions displayed. It’s up to you – answer one or all – for an opportunity to have your clip(s) included in a future social media reel promoting the organization and your individual craft. Participants are encouraged to dress to impress and bring their books or other prop (instrument, photo, award, etc.) to represent their work.

There will be multiple opportunities to film content all weekend. These opportunities will be listed in the conference schedule and should not conflict with most presentations. We hope you’ll visit every day because participants will be presented with new questions to respond to each time. We’ll also get to capture some incredible women in different outfits and with new hairstyles and jewelry (most important, right?). The total recording time with each participant should take no more than 2-3 minutes each time they stop by.

Participants can look forward to seeing their contributions displayed on WWW social media channels (@Womenwritingthewest) throughout the next year and can “like” and share the videos on their personal pages and in related groups. By acting as a team, we will reach a wider audience and both the artist and organization will benefit.

Let’s have some fun with this and create more buzz together, shall we?

Considerations:

  • Participants will be required to sign a film release and list their social media accounts they want to be tagged.
  • Answers should be succinct (final outputs will only be about 30-60 seconds in total).
  • There is no guarantee a clip will be produced.

Molony reserves the right to edit for clarity or timing (note: eliminating gaffes, long pauses, interruptions, lighting/sound issues, etc.).
